OK, big problem with I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (novel). A famous old movie of the same name, with Paul Muni, was based on this book. I happen to own the book, and I have it in front of me, and the article on this book is *grossly inaccurate*. It may even be a hoax.

Apparently somebody just took the plot of the movie and slapped it down in the article on the book. The book is not about somebody named "Allen" and he does not marry a lady named "Woods." This is no accident. Those are the names of characters in the *movie*. It is also not accurate that this is a "novel." It is a nonfiction book. The article needs to be deleted or cut back as it is filled with misinformation. Should I just do that to the bare bones and start from scratch? The article also needs to be renamed as it is not a novel.--Stetsonharry (talk) 03:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Be bold and add the correct information as referenced from your copy of the book. Add it as a reference source. Discuss any problems you have with an article on the articles talk page. Sting au Buzz Me... 03:50, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gene Kelly[edit]

I added it as a footnote because it was only one aspect of his teaching career and it's important not to clutter up the main article with minor details. D7240 (talk) 13:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to you both for your replies.--Stetsonharry (talk) 14:26, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References > Citing sources[edit]

Hola! Please read

Wikipedia:External links, Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability

1) You will find that sites that you have to register for are to be strongly avioded, like $3.95 for a New York Times article.

2) Use Inline citations and just don't put them in the reference section and you don't tell the reader what exactly you are citing.

Old Image Notices[edit]

You may delete old image notices. Especially if they are no longer there, and show up as dead-reds. ~ WikiDon (talk) 11:58, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just removed as suggested. Thanks.--Stetsonharry (talk) 02:07, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Titles[edit]

Me again!

Friendly reminder: TITLES: album, film, book, etc. are always ITALICIZED.../ song, chapter, are in "quotation marks".....per:

Hi[edit]

I noticed Byrne's response on the talk page for his bio yesterday. You may want to take a look and judge whether Byrne's link to a press release before the event that was at issue was anything but an attempt to obfuscate the matter. He might have been trying to obtain identifying information for harassing people with his 'Deep Capture' site too, but that isn't particularly relevant to the article (though I do advise that you proceed with caution). Re: Overstock.com[edit]

Hi there,

I made a couple very subtle changes (i.e., changing tense) to reflect this. I would do more, but I know very little about the Overstock history. If you think it could use more work, could you please post a modified version of the section (ideally on the article talk page)? — xDanielx T/C\R 21:53, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All Creatures G&S[edit]

Hello Stetsonharry. Thanks for the work that you are doing cleaning up this article. Please be aware that TV programs (and films and books etc) are referred to using the word "is" rather than "was" even if they are no longer making new episodes. The rational is that they still exist and can be viewed in a variety of formats. On another note the section that you removed about Carol and Christopher having an affair is a well known fact. They fell in love during the making of the series. Unfortunately, they were both married to others at the time. I have a biography of Alf Wight that states that this caused some problems offscreen as Alf's wife strongly disapproved of this situation. Now don't get me wrong I think you were right in removing it until it can be sourced and my book is in a box somewhere and I don't know when I will be able to lay my hands on it. I am leaving this message just to let you know about it. I watched the early seasons of this show with great enjoyment many times when I was in college back in the 70's. I wasn't surprised at all to learn that they had gotten together because I felt that there love for each other showed right through the TV screen. In fact I always felt that the entire main cast (Robert H., Peter D. and Mary H as well as C & C) seemed to enjoy each others company and that this greatly enhanced their performances. Cheers and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 21:48, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed you hoped to find references for Campbell. I chanced upon [this DVD]. Looks like a great source if you are able to rent it somewhere. Cheers. CactusWriter | needles 09:06, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
