"Mañana, Mañana" (English: "Tomorrow, Tomorrow") is a song written by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. It was first performed by Gabriel and Estela Nuñez on Gabriel's album, Ella in (1980). The song describes the departure of a lost love who will never return. In 1994, Mexican singer Cristian Castro covered the song on his album El Camino del Alma as "Mañana", where it was released as the lead single from the album by Fonovisa. Castro's cover peaked at number-two on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and became the first number-one single on the Billboard Latin Pop Songs chart. A year later, the song received an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers award for Pop/Contemporary Song.

Ricardo Arjona is a Guatemalan singer-songwriter who has received awards and nominations for his contributions to the music industry. He has sold approximately 20 million albums worldwide, becoming one of the most successful Latin artists of all-time. The singer received his first American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) award in 1995, winning twice for his songs "Te Conozco" and "Detrás de Mi Ventana"—written for Mexican singer Yuri. Arjona has been nominated nine times at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and in 1997 he became the first solo artist to receive Best Rock Album, with Si El Norte Fuera El Sur (1996). He received the award a second time in 1999 with Sin Daños a Terceros (1998).

Arjona received his only Lo Nuestro Award in 2004 with Santo Pecado (2002), which won Pop Album of the Year. ASCAP honored the singer in 2006 with the Latin Heritage Award. Arjona won his first Grammy Award in the Best Latin Pop Album category for Adentro (2005) in 2007. Arjona shared the award with Mexican singer Julieta Venegas, whom was awarded for Limón y Sal (2006).

Viva el Príncipe (English: Long Live the Prince) is the thirteenth studio album by Mexican recording artist Cristian Castro, released on November 30, 2010 by Universal Music Latino. It is a tribute album to Mexican singer José José, Castro's musical idol. The album was produced by Rafael Pérez-Botija who also produced for José José. Viva el Príncipe covers twelve songs by José José and includes a poem recited by Castro's idol. Recording took place on August 2010 at The Hit Factory Criteria in Miami, Florida.

To promote the recording, Castro released "La Nave del Olvido", which peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Castro toured for the release in United States, Latin America and Spain. The album became successful in Mexico and the United States where it topped both the Mexican and Billboard Latin album charts. It was certified diamond by the Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas (AMPROFON) in Mexico and double platinum (Latin field) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States.
